Logic & KPI Definitions — AIR: Flights
Data source (spine + validation)
- Primary source (all counts & GBV): TRAACS
Sales Raw Data - Tickets (system-of-record spine). Airline, destination, sector/route, cabin and Selling Price are TRAACS-native fields.
- Validation-only: AkeedData_CSV, AOS_Data, ZentrumHub_Data (origination/PNR cross-checks elsewhere) — they add no counts or value here.
Filters
- Year: 2025 (full year) & 2026 (Jan–Jul so far). For 2025, the airline name is reconstructed from
Airline Numeric code via the 2026 code→name map, and the route uses Sector Code (e.g. RUH/JED/RUH) since 2025 has no Sector Name; 2026 uses Sector Name (city routing). Both are TRAACS-native.
- Quarter / Month: filter by Document Date. Quarter = Q1(Jan-Mar)…Q4(Oct-Dec).
- Metric: GBV = Σ
Selling Price (SAR); Transactions = issued ticket count.
- Scope (Domestic vs International): taken from the TRAACS Tax Region field (values Domestic / International) for 2026 — the same classifier TRAACS uses for tax, so it is authoritative. For 2025 (no Tax Region column) the equivalent Airport Region field is used: DOM → Domestic, INT & GULF → International (Airport Region matches Tax Region to within 1 record in 2026). GULF (GCC) counts as International. All = both.
Population & exclusions
- Included: issued tickets — Original Issuance + Reissue.
- Excluded: Refunds (RFD / Refunded), VOID, non-2026 rows. Selling view — refunds don't net down rankings.
- Cabin blanks excluded from Cabin Share only. Route rows with no sector (or non-route codes like
PENALTY FEE) excluded from the airline route drill only.
- Airline de-dup: TRAACS code
995-FLYDEAL is merged into 560-FLYADEAL (mis-keyed duplicate of flyadeal).
KPIs / visuals
- KPI strip (Tickets / GBV / Airlines) = full totals for the selected scope & period — not limited to the top-10 shown.
- Top Selling Airlines — ranked by metric & scope (bar + table, top 10). Click an airline (bar or row) to open its top routes pop-up (routes ranked by metric; share = % of that airline's routed volume).
- Top Destinations — destination cities ranked by metric & scope (top 10).
- Cabin Share — grouped pie: (First+Business) vs (Premium+Economy); click a slice to drill to individual cabins. Premium = 0 (TRAACS records no Premium Economy).
